What this type is
Wealth Vault is a pattern where the Wealth Star enters a tomb vault. The four branches Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei are the four vaults. When the vault branch of the element the Day Master controls appears in the Four Pillars, the vault contains Wealth, and the Day Master can carry it—only then is it a true Wealth Vault. Classical texts say, 'Wealth in the vault, it can be stored': people of this type are not flashy with money, but they keep it. There is another side: the vault door is closed, and it must be opened at the right time. Opening relies on Clash—when a Luck Cycle or Annual Luck clashes the vault branch, the stored things come out for use.
How to see it in a chart
Look at three conditions; if one is missing, it is a 'locked empty vault.' Vault branch present: the tomb vault of the element the Day Master controls appears in the Four Pillars. Vault has content: the vault branch hides the Wealth Star, not an empty vault. Day Master can carry: the self is not too weak. When all three align, the Wealth Vault is in place. As for 'how often to replenish the Wealth Vault,' that is a folk ritual of vault replenishment, unrelated to chart structure—we do not do that.
Women and men
Classical texts rarely distinguish gender for the Wealth Vault, mostly saying, 'Vault has wealth, never lacking in life'; occasionally there are sayings about helping the husband or wife, all old readings that count the spouse into the wealth. Today, the Wealth Vault is not gendered; it speaks of a structure that can hold: money has a place to rest after coming in, and it does not easily leave. The difference lies only in the timing of opening the vault.
How it mends
Luck Cycles can help and also open. In a Luck Cycle or Annual Luck that clashes the vault branch, the vault door opens, and stored money comes out for use—this is the harvest season for this type. A Wealth Luck Cycle adds more into the vault. A Resource or Peer Luck Cycle is for guarding—the vault door stays closed, suitable for accumulation. Discipline can help.
